Ladies from Bulgaria and Turkiye held bilateral business meetings during an entrepreneurship forum organized by the Bulgarian-Turkish Ladies Business Club in partnership with Burgas Municipality, the Bulgarian Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion Agency  and the Bulgarian-Turkish Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The event was opened by Mayor Dimitar Nikolov and the Consul General of Turkiye in Burgas Senem Guzel.

During the event, Guzel summarized the data, according to which the trade between the two countries amounted to EUR 7 billion in 2022. The investments of the Turkish state in Bulgaria exceeded EUR 2.5 billion and there are more than 4,000 Turkish companies operating in the country. According to Guzel, Turkish businesses in Bulgaria provide at least 15,000 jobs. She described the forum as a right step for the development of entrepreneurship and exchange of experience among the ladies with entrepreneurial spirit in both countries.

During the forum, emphasis was put on disadvantaged people and opportunities for the integration of people with disabilities in businesses.

Burgas Mayor Dimitar Nikolov said that it was a privilege for him to host this forum and added that it was the business ladies who were among the first to react after the earthquake in Turkiye in February by preparing a large-scale humanitarian campaign to support people in need. "Turkiye is among the most important strategic partners of our country. I hope that the intensive business contacts between representatives of industry, services, tourism and other sectors will continue," Nikolov said.

Among the guests at the forum were representatives of the local authorities, as well as MPs elected from Burgas and Sliven constituencies. A culinary surprise for the guests was prepared by Chef Andre Tokev.
