The National Polytechnic Museum in Sofia is hosting an exhibition that takes visitors on a journey through time, showcasing miniature replicas of iconic 20th-century car models. The temporary exhibit opened on March 31, 2025, the museum said.

The exhibition features over 200 collector’s models of vintage cars, collected by Svetoslav Tomov - an engineer, traveler, and passionate admirer of automotive design.

The collection includes a range of scales - 1:46, 1:24, 1:18, and 1:12, offering an impressive display of detail and craftsmanship. Among the highlights are classic racing and sports cars, American muscle cars, elegant limousines from the golden age of design, wooden-bodied vehicles, and legendary models tied to film and music icons, such as Elvis Presley’s pink Cadillac Eldorado.

Each model depicts a scene from a bygone era - reflecting the style, spirit, and history of its time. “I don’t know anything about engines,” the author of the collection says, “but I fell in love with the shapes, the ornaments and the character of these cars. They are like sculptures that inspire”.
