Paintings by Oleg Gotchev will be displayed at the Gallery of the Union of Bulgarian Artists (UBA) at 6 Shipka Street, Sofia, between April 2 and 16. The exhibition is titled "Oleg Gotchev. The Perspective of Time (70-30)" and will mark the artist's 70th birthday, the organizers said.

The selection includes works displayed over the last 30 years in Germany, Spain and Switzerland, but never in Bulgaria, and items from Gotchev's 60th birthday exhibition. Visitors will be able to see several murals and stained glass works created in Bulgaria and abroad over the last decade, UBA said.

Oleg Gotchev was born in 1954 in Sofia. He studied mural painting at Sofia's National Academy of Art (NAA) under Prof. Dimo Zaimov. In 1983, he began to teach at NAA, and in 2010, he received the title of Academic from the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and Arts (not to be confused with the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences).

Gotchev has created 41 murals in various countries. He has contributed to 190 group, national and specialized exhibitions in Bulgaria and has held 23 one-artist exhibitions in France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Austria and Bulgaria, among other countries. He has also participated in 37 other international exhibitions. Gotchev has also been active in the design of postage stamps and cards.
