site.btaSixth Edition of International Festival of Ethnographic Cinema OKO to Present Programme in Kyiv, Bolhrad, Sofia

The team of OKO International Ethnographic Film Festival with director Tatiana Staneva published information about the dates of its sixth edition. In 2025 the festival will be organized in three different cities. The festival programme will also be presented in Sofia, Bulgaria, from October 3 to 11, according to the OKO Facebook page.

The Ukrainian part of the sixth edition will take place in Kyiv between September 5 and 10, and will continue in Bolhrad between September 12 and 14. 

"I think it is very symbolic that the Ukrainian and Bulgarian capitals are united by the spiritual capital of Ukrainian Bulgarians", Staneva said. "That is, we become a real bridge. It is also symbolic that both capitals - Sofia and Kyiv, are almost equidistant from Bolhrad", she added.

The OKO International Ethnographic Film Festival is a Ukrainian-Bulgarian project, which has been organized in both countries since 2023. The main focus of the film festival is on ethnography, folklore, anthropology, history, life, culture, national traditions and customs, as well as on the problems, hopes and significant events and personalities of both nations. The 2024 edition of the film festival was held in Bolhrad, Ukraine, between September 8 and 15, and the second part between November 8 and 15 in Sofia.
