The Nativity of Jesus Christ marked the beginning of a new era for the Christian world, one which continues to this day, said Patriarch Daniil said at Wednesday’s solemn Christmas liturgy in the St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral. Also in the cathedral, His Holiness addressed a Christmas patriarchal and synodal message of greetings to the faithful.

"On the Feast of the Nativity of Christ, we send our fatherly greetings to all the children of our Holy Church - within the borders of our homeland and far from it, with heartfelt wishes for light and joy in their souls and hearts. Merry Christmas!" the message said.
The Christian world today celebrates one of the greatest church holidays - the Nativity of Christ - Christmas, which celebrates the birth of the Son of God, Jesus Christ.

Many believers flocked to the cathedral for the liturgy to experience the Nativity together.
