A forum entitled "The Principal: A generator of ideas, a motivating unifier, a good manager and mediator" opened on Monday in the presence of nearly 230 principals and deputy principals of schools and kindergartens in Sofia, the Education Ministry said. Addressing the participants, Education and Science Minister Galin Tsokov said the advent of technology, including the use of AI, is changing the education institutions, but it cannot replace the role of leaders.

Tsokov said about the forum: "This is a conversation about leadership in education, but also about another important issue - technological development and Education 5.0, and the challenges you face." The leader is now an intermediary not just between people, but between AI and high technologies so that they can be used to generate added value in the education process, he said.

Tsokov also talked about the key importance of a positive environment in education institutions for developing the potential of every child.

Education 5.0 is the most inclusive and the most innovative because in order to offset the consequences of the use of high technologies, it is very important to pay attention to personal development in education institutions.

The forum was organized by Sofia's Regional Department of Education and the Sofia chapters of the Union of Leaders in the System of National Education and the Association of Principals in Secondary Education.
