site.btaEmil Iliev International Jazz Festival to Take Place August 2-7

The third International Jazz Festival Dr Emil Iliev will take place in the Borovets resort between August 2 and 7, organizers said.

On the programme are seven world famous bands and two solo artists who will make their Bulgarian debut.

Musicians from 12 countries such as Portugal, Indonesia, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Canada and Hungary will take part.

Jazz lovers will see the vocal band Just Vox, Shuffle Demons, Rymden Trio, Jacob Karlzon Trio. Bulgarian acts include Konstantin Kostov Trio, Kornazov & Dupas Quartet, Kalin Veliov, and Jeremy.

The festival will open with the Big Band of the Bulgarian National Radio with conductor Antoni Donchev and soloist Vassil Petrov and 16-yar old Valeria Stoyanova. They will be joined by the Indonesian band Keubitbit, and Lina Rodriguez from Portugal.

The programme also features jam sessions, a summer jazz academy for children, presentations of books and people.
