site.btaInternational Yoga Day to Be Celebrated across Bulgaria

International Yoga Day will be celebrated for the tenth consecutive year, from June 15 to 23, at 44 locations across Bulgaria in Sofia, Plovdiv, Stara Zagora, Burgas, Varna, Ruse, Veliko Tarnovo and Pleven, the organizers said Tuesday. The central event in Bulgaria will take place in Sofia again this year.

On June 23, the NDK National Palace of Culture will open its doors for the event and Halls 8, 9 and 9-A will offer for yoga-related programmes throughout the day. Admission is free.

Prior to the main programme at NDK on June 20, outdoor yoga sessions will be held in front of the Ivan Vazov National Theater and St. Alexander Nevsky Square, and on June 21 in front of the Mahatma Gandhi statue in Sofia's South Park, with free admission.  

The celebrations are under the patronage of Indian Ambassador Sanjay Rana. The organizers quote the diplomat as saying that he is impressed by the tremendous interest and deep understanding of yoga in Bulgaria.
