Sofia Exhibition Raises Funds for Children of Injured, Rescuers Who Died in Line of Duty

General Directorate Fire Safety and Civil Protection (GD FSCP) and IKAR Gallery organized a charity exhibition, which opened on Tuesday in Sofia, the Interior Ministry said. The proceeds from the sale of the art works will go to support the children of direfighters and rescuers who died or were injured in their line of futy.

"During our first joint exhibition last year, 17 paintings were sold and the BGN 5,500 collected then were given to children of firefighters and rescuers," GD FSCP Director Aleksandar Dzhartov said.

The charity exhibition will be on display until June 21 at IKAR Gallery. Funds raised will be distributed to children of fallen and injured firefighters and rescuers. So far 13 paintings have been sold.

The opening of the exhibition was attended by Deputy Interior Minister Tony Todorov and Deputy Education Minister Tanya Mihaylova.
