Portuguese singer Mariana Brito da Cruz Forjaz Secca, known professionally as MARO, will hold her first concert in Bulgaria on April 27 in Sofia Live Club, Sofia Live Festival said on Monday. The multi-instrumentalist, producer and songwriter from Lisbon represented her country in the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Turin, Italy with the song Saudade, saudade.

MARO graduated from Berklee College of Music in Boston in 2017 and officially debuted on the music scene in 2018 after releasing five albums and one EP in a single year. She collaborated with world renowned artist Jacob Collier in his Djesse Vol. 2 album and in 2019 took part in his Djesse World Tour.

MARO continues her solo performances in Portugal, Spain, Brazil, Mexico and the United States. In 2022, she won Festival da Cancao, which led to her Eurovision participation.

The album from the same year, Can you see me?, shows another side of her with pop, trap and folk influences, and together with the songs from her 2023 album Nortela, will bring the intimate atmosphere of the guitar trio to Sofia, the organizers said.
