Over 120,000 people visited the National Art Gallery in 2023, its management said Tuesday. The National Gallery owns the Kvadrat 500 gallery, The Palace, the Museum of Christian Art in the crypt of the St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, the Museum of Socialist Art, the Sofia Arsenal Museum of Contemporary Art and the house-museums of Nikola Tanev, Vera Nedkova, Ivan Lazarov and Andrei Nikolov. 

There were a total of 36 solo, group and thematic exhibitions in all of these art spaces.

Over 1,100 works were loaned to them from artists, private, corporate and municipal collections at home and abroad. 

In 2023, 178 works from the gallery's collection were made available for exhibitions at museums and galleries in the country and abroad. There were 203 new acquisitions.

About 100 images from the National Gallery collections were published in scientific, popular and advertising publications in Bulgaria and abroad.
