The Sofia Opera and Ballet had 13 premieres in 2023, among which The Queen of Spades by Pyotr Tchaikovsky, Fidelio by Ludwig van Beethoven, The Hermit of Rila by composer Father Kiril Popov and text by Tihomir Pavlov, The Rhine Gold, Valkyrie, Siegfried by Richard Wagner, the press service of the cultural institution reported.

A total of 315 performances were performed by the troupe of the Sofia Opera and Ballet, with the total number of audience throughout the past twelve months reaching 135,000.

The Sofia Opera and Ballet also toured abroad, performing to the public in Daegu (South Korea), Fussen (Germany), Ankara and Istanbul (Turkey), Salerno (Italy). The troupe presented a total of ten performances internationally in front of more than 15,000 people.

A new Sofia Opera initiative, titled "Talks for the Audience", started on January 11, 2023, with 72 talks attended by over 3,000 people, the organizers noted.
