The President of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS), Acad. Julian Revalski, participated in a joint academy day organized by the Austrian Academy of Sciences and the European Academies Science Advisory Council (EASAC), the BAS press office announced on Friday.

From the beginning of 2024, the Austrian Academy of Sciences will host the EASAC secretariat.

EASAC chairman Prof. Wim van Saarloos opened the event with a lecture on "Scientific Councils from Academies in Support of Policy - Uniting at European Level within EASAC". The event continued with a panel discussion on "Energy Transition: realistic ambitions and ambitious prospects" devoted to EASAC's latest report "The Future of Gas".

EASAC was founded in 2001 and brings together the national science academies of the EU member states, Norway and Switzerland.
