site.btaEleventh Edition of Theatres Night to Start on November 18

The eleventh edition of Theatres Night starts on November 18. Its programme includes live performances and art events in 14 cities across the country – Sofia, Plovdiv, Varna, Ruse, Stara Zagora, Blagoevgrad, Pleven, Shumen, Simitli, Kardzhali, Targovishte, Pazardzhik, Lovech, and Sliven, the organizers said on Thursday.

The first performance, Hamlet by director Ovanes Torosian, will be staged on the big stage of the drama theatre in Pleven on November 17. 

The Sofia Opera and Ballet House will open its doors to visitors for a backstage tour. The evening will include a performance of Strauss’s opera Ariadne auf Naxos.

Sofia's centre for contemporary arts Toplocentrala will host two international performances, The End and The Beginning, by the Bert and Nasi duo, on November 19.

The drama theatre in Varna will premiere the Superman dance-theatre performance based on the music of "The Rite of Spring" by Stravinsky and the philosophy of Nietzsche. It is directed by Vasil Zafirchev from the Republic of North Macedonia, while Sasho Dimoski is its scriptwriter.
