A photo exhibition of valuable books and prints from the 16th-19th century from the Rila Monastery's library is on display at Sofia's University of Library Studies and Information Technologies (ULSIT) until the end of November. The exhibition presents a photographic view at artistically decorated and illustrated copies of the Gospel and early Venetian issues from the monastery's library, the ULSIT team said Monday.

The exhibition's photographer is Dobrin Kashavelov, and the artistic arrangement was done by Adriana Gerasimova. The exhibition draws the visitors' attention to the aesthetics of typographic and book-binding art in Slavic Cyrilic print books.

The exhibition is organized with the blessing of the Rila Monastery Abbot and with the assistance in the research for the project of Zhenya Ivanova, head librarian of the Rila Monastery's library. The project is funded by the Education Ministry's Bulgarian National Science Fund.
