Austrian orchestra conductor Sascha Goetzel is coming back to Bulgaria Hall in Sofia on November 2, the Sofia Philharmonic said on Monday.

The soloist of the show will be Elias David Moncado, a young but already famous violinist, one of the best students of the legendary Anne-Sophie Mutter.

The programme for the evening includes Violin Concerto in D major, Op. 61, by Ludwig van Beethoven; Blumine from Symphony No. 1 in D major "Titan" by Gustav Mahler; Tragic Overture, Op. 51, by Johannes Brahms; and "La valse" by Maurice Ravel.

Elias David Moncado, 22, is a German-Spanish-Malaysian violinist, a scholarship holder of the Anne-Sophie Mutter Foundation since 2023. He is the youngest ever winner of the 1st grand prize as well as 10 special prizes at the International Karol Lipinski Violin Competition in Poland (2019). Elias won the 1st prize at the Int. Valsesia Musica 2021 as well as the 1st prize at the Int. Vladimir Spivakov Competition 2021. In addition, he is the youngest prizewinner of the 7th International Sendai Violin Competition 2019 in Japan.

In 2023, three tours with Anne-Sophie Mutter and "Mutter's Virtuosi" took him to Iceland, the US, Canada and throughout Europe, where he also performed as a soloist next to Mutter at venues like Golden Hall of Musikverein Wien, Berliner Philharmonie, Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, Festspielhaus Baden-Baden, Alte Oper Frankfurt, Philharmonie Luxemburg, Roy Thomson Hall Toronto, Knight Concert Hall Miami, Kravis Center West Palm Beach, Palacio de Festivales Santander as well as the Lucerne Festival.

Elias will also appear as a soloist at Sofia Philharmonic concerts in Austria and Germany from November 5 to 9 under the baton of Naiden Todorov.
