Minister of Education and Science Prof. Galin Tsokov will open the last information meeting on the project "Support for the dual training system" on Thursday at 3 pm in the Moskva Park Hotel, the press centre of his ministry said.  

The meeting will be attended by parents and students from Sofia-city and Sofia-region, business representatives, heads of Regional Education Departments, experts from the Ministry of Education.  

There will also be stands of students from dual training classes from 11 vocational schools. More than 25 such meetings have been held for parents, students and businesses across the country, the Education Ministry said.

The Advisory Council for Vocational Education and Training at the Ministry of Education and Science adopted a Strategic Vision for the Development of Dual Education in Bulgaria by 2030. It envisages focusing on the leading role of business in training, developing and modernising the dual education system in the country, more communication to promote it. Its development was financially supported by the fund for the preparation of support measures for the Swiss-Bulgarian cooperation programme, the press centre of the ministry announced on September 14 this year.

The meeting of the Advisory Council, which includes representatives of employers' and trade unions' organisations, businesses, higher education institutions and vocational schools, as well as experts from various institutions, was then opened by the Minister of Education and Science, Prof. Galin Tsokov. The participants also supported the drafted amendments to the Vocational Education and Training Act. They provide for a completely new list of professions. The current over-detailed listing of often similar specialties will be abolished and instead there will be fewer broad professions. Training in each occupation will also include environmental subjects and specific IT skills.
