The Lumina Park Magic Garden light exhibition will be open at the Botanical Garden of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS) on October 27 at 6 pm, said BAS Botanical Garden Director Prof. Svetlana Nikolova.
In this way, the Botanical Garden of the BAS celebrates its 30th anniversary as an independent unit.
Lumina Park is part of a series of parks springing up for the autumn-winter period in ten European cities. In Sofia, the park will offer over 130 light installations and three art installations by two Polish artists, Marta Mulawa and Jaroslaw Koziara. The attraction is spread over an area of 1.5 kilometers in the Botanical Garden, and every season will feature an experience with a different theme. Sofia's first there is "Magic Garden".
The installations are appropriate for visitors of all ages, a visual feast with stunning LED sculptures, illuminated bushes, trees, animals, natural phenomena and captivating music. The light show can be seen every day, except Mondays, between 6 pm and 10 pm, between October 27 and the end of February.
The BAS Botanical Garden is a specialized academic unit that grows and maintains documented collections of living plants for education and experimental botany. The public function of the garden is related to the study and conservation of biological diversity, as well as to the dissemination of knowledge about it to build an attitude towards the sustainable management of biodiversity.
