The traditional Japanese Impressions exhibition is on display at Mazda Gallery until November 3. The event is part of the 2023 Sofia Paper Art Fest and takes place within the 34th edition of the Days of Japanese Culture in Bulgaria, the organizers said.

This is the eleventh edition of the Japanese Impressions exhibition. The artworks in it represent various techniques and movements in Japanese contemporary art. Some of the works are digital, others fluctuate from ceramics to paper, from object to installation, or are entirely in the realm of classical technologies but showing a new approach.

Black and white pieces of art dominate the exhibition, but there are also brightly coloured works. Minimalism is a distinctive style in Japanese works, the organizers added.
