Artist Nikola The Kumaritsa Mitov will present his new exhibition of graphics at the Union of Bulgarian Artists (UBA), as it will be on display between July 13 and July 28, UBA said on Thursday.

Mitov was born in 1939 in the village of Kumaritsa (now a neighbourhood of the town of Novi Iskar and is one of the most renowned contemporary Bulgarian graphic artists, according to the UBA.

He studied at the Academy of Arts, specialty "Graphic Art" under Prof. Evtim Tomov. Mitov currently works in the field of applied graphics - graphic signs, book layouts and illustrations. His preferred genres are portrait and landscape. He recreates the images of historical figures, contemporaries, his wife.

His portrait of the football player Georgi Asparuhov, his first cousin, painted immediately after his tragic death, gained great popularity.
