Asked Friday by journalists whether he knows Ivan Mirinski, whose name was brought up by CC-DB’s Kiril Petkov and Andrey Tsekov as the decision maker in all public procurement contracts, GERB leader Boyko Borissov said, “I know Ivan Mirinski, I opened the [Sofia] Northern [Speed] Tangent with him back in the day.” He added that during the GERB governments there was no evidence of irregularities in the construction sector committed by Mirinski, and that he had no role in construction then.

Borissov also commented that he did not know that Ivan Mirinski had gone to Moscow to negotiate South Stream, as Kiril Petkov had said earlier in the day.

Asked whether the government is currently trying to renegotiate the contract with Turkish energy company BOTAS, Borissov said that "the attempts to renegotiate are how much less we will lose".

During the briefing, MP Raya Nazaryan from GERB-UDF also joined in, commenting that the topic of immunities for MPs requested by the Prosecutor's Office was not discussed at Friday’s meeting of Parliament’s presiding body.
