The leader of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) – New Beginning, Delyan Peevski, responded on Friday in the lobby of Parliament to Kiril Petkov's words about foul play in construction.
Petkov more specifically said that "Ivan Mirinski is like Petyo 'The Euro' Petrov of the construction business".
Petyo “The Euro” Petrov is said to be a major power broker and notorious judiciary fixer. Petrov is a fugitive from justice.
“These topics do not exist, check who these people are and you will understand, they are all a fabrication of Continue the Change – Democratic Bulgaria (CC-DB) in their desperation. All that is being said is a diversion of attention from Paskal, [former Finance Minister] Assen Vassilev and the robbery of CC-DB,” Peevski said.
Nikolay Nikolov-Paskal is one of four defendants accused of participation in an organized criminal group for smuggling. After the court authorized a European Arrest Warrant, Paskal was detained in Serbia in late September 2024. His return to Bulgaria is still pending.
Peevski added that "the time of Bulgarian citizens should not be wasted with people from the past", when asked about CC-DB’s claims and his communication with CC-DB deputy and former Regional Development Minister Andrey Tsekov. "People have seen them for what they are. This is the end of oligarchy, it is time to put an end to the joking and teasing," added Peevski.
“It is time to work for Bulgaria, for the government to start working, for Parliament to start working, to stop the nonsense,” Peevski also said.
