I expect that the diplomatic efforts that have begun to replace shells and bombs will intensify and next year we will mark an anniversary without being at war, President Rumen Radev told journalists on Monday on the occasion of the third anniversary of the start of the conflict in Ukraine.

“I expect reason to finally prevail,” Radev added. He reiterated that this conflict cannot have a military solution and that the decision to counter-attack of the Ukrainian forces has led to a catastrophe for Ukraine, which has consequences for the whole of Europe.

And all this blind faith in victory in a military solution, this encouragement of Ukraine's leadership by a number of leaders, instead of building stable defensive lines, preserving its armed forces potential, this push towards a counter-offensive without having the necessary conditions for a successful offensive operation, has led to a catastrophe for Ukraine that has consequences for the whole of Europe,” Rumen Radev said.
