There is heavy outbound truck traffic at the Kapitan Andreevo checkpoint on the Bulgarian-Turkish border, the Border Police General Directorate reported early Monday morning.
Passage through the Malko Tarnovo checkpoint is temporarily limited to one lane due to reconstruction work.
Traffic remains normal at Bulgaria’s borders with the Republic of North Macedonia and Serbia.
Due to increased travel demand on the Rudozem - Xanthi route at the Greek border, the Border Police informed travellers that construction work is ongoing on the Greek side. Greek authorities have placed signs indicating that the area is a construction site, restricting access to unauthorized individuals.
Only passenger cars and minibuses of up to 3.5 tonnes are permitted to pass through the Makaza, Zlatograd, and Ivaylovgrad border checkpoints.
A temporary traffic organization has been introduced on the Bulgarian section of the Danube Bridge border checkpoint with Romania near Ruse due to repairs.
