Bulgaria's Foreign Minister Georg Georgiev Sunday met with his Azerbaijani counterpart Jeyhun Bayramov at the Munich Security Conference, the Foreign Ministry said. 

Georgiev said Azerbaijan is a reliable strategic energy partner of Bulgaria in the South Caucasus Region and the broader Black Sea Region. That country plays a significant role in the diversification of gas supplies to the Bulgarian economy and Europe, Bulgaria's chief diplomat said.

Opportunities for deepening the strategic partnership between Bulgaria and Azerbaijan and the high level of their political dialogue topped the agenda of the meeting.

The sides agreed to find suitable dates this year for the next round of consultations between the two foreign ministries. This will provide an opportunity to discuss bilateral matters of current relevance and to exchange views on regional and global topics.
