site.btaThree Bulgarians Arrested for Involvement in International Synthetic Drug Ring

Officials from the General Directorate Combating Organized Crime (GDCOC) arrested three Bulgarians involved in an international criminal group operating in European Union countries, the Interior Ministry reported on Friday.

Extradition of the detainees is pending. The operation took place on February 6, following a European arrest warrant issued by Belgium.

The Interior Ministry noted that, following information provided by Bulgaria in December 2024, a large laboratory for the production of synthetic drugs was uncovered in the country. Laboratory equipment, a reactor, precursors, and notes on the chemical synthesis process were found and seized. Joint work on the case is ongoing.
