President Rumen Radev offered condolences to the family and colleagues of Krassimir Kurtev over the death of the prominent musician and co-founder, vocalist and bassist of the iconic Bulgarian band Akaga, the President's press office announced Tuesday.

"Krassimir Kurtev will be remembered for his rich creativity and the vivid wit with which he charmed people", Radev said. "He was an exceptional musician with enviable skill and unparalleled flair in combining a variety of genres," he added, highlighting the talent of the great Bulgarian musician who expanded the horizons of the Bulgarian native musical culture with remarkable compositions, thus changing it fundamentally.

"I am convinced that Krassimir Kurtev will continue to live in the hearts of the audience as a worthy example of professionalism and creativity," Radev further noted and stressed that the musician will remain an inexhaustible inspiration for young people and future generations of Bulgarian artists.

Krassimir Kurtev was born in Sofia on July 25, 1970. He graduated from the Lyubomir Pipkov National School of Music and then completed his higher education at the Pancho Vladigerov National Academy of Music. He worked in the field of music, co-founded the Akaga band. He was also one of the founders of the Bulgarian Music Association and a member of Teosto - Finland.
