Bulgaria to Keep Providing Military Assistance to Ukraine, Defence Minister Says at Meeting with Ukrainian Ambassador

Bulgaria will continue to provide military assistance to Ukraine, caretaker Defence Minister Atanas Zapryanov said at a meeting with Ukrainian Ambassador to Bulgaria Olesya Ilashchuk, the Defence Ministry said in a press release on Monday.

Zapryanov wished that the coming year would bring peace and territorial independence to the Ukrainian people. "Bulgaria stands firmly behind the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine," Zapryanov stressed.

Ilashchuk thanked Bulgaria for its assistance and for its principled and practical support for democracy. She underlined that Bulgaria has always been an extremely important and close partner of Ukraine and expressed hope that the effective bilateral cooperation will continue.

The meeting was also attended by Defence Minister’s Parliamentary Secretary Svetla Dobreva and the Head of the Defence Policy and Planning Directorate, Brigadier General Lyubomir Monov.
