site.btaParliament Chair Kiselova Meets with Council of Rectors Chair Temelkova

Parliament Chair Nataliya Kiselova met with Council of Rectors Chair Prof. Miglena Temelkova, Parlaiment's press service said on Friday. The challenges facing the higher education system in Bulgaria and the interaction between the Parliament and the Council of Rectors were discussed.

Kiselova noted that as a university lecturer she knows well the problems of higher education and the needs for reforms in the field. She assured that for her the development of higher education should be among the priorities in the work of the 51st National Assembly. According to her, there should be a sustainable state policy which should not be influenced by the frequent changes in government as witnessed in recent years.

Temelkova congratulated Nataliya Kiselova on her election as Chairperson of the National Assembly. She noted that changes are needed related to the financing of the system. She expressed confidence that Kiselova would contribute to good cooperation between the legislative institution and the Council of Rectors, as well as to the adoption of legislative solutions to pressing issues of higher education.
