Continue the Change (CC) will make a decision at its National Council whether to negotiate with GERB-UDF to form a government, said CC Co-chair Kiril Petkov after a meeting of the Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria parliamentary group on Monday. Before the meeting, Democratic Bulgaria sent a position stating that it is necessary to make a real and responsible attempt to form a government in the 51st National Assembly.
After the meeting of the parliamentary group, Petkov commented that the conversation was constructive. "On the topic of negotiations with GERB-UDF, we have a National Council meeting tonight and you will see a precise and clear position in coordination with our coalition partners," he pointed out. When asked whether they share a position with their coalition partners on all topics, Petkov indicated that they share a common vision of what Bulgaria should look like. "We have some differences in approach, but the coalition is moving together. The common ultimate goal is one," he added.
Petkov rejected the possibility of negotiations with GERB-UDF without them having signed the declaration of a cordon sanitaire (sanitary cordon) around Delyan Peevski's party Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) - New Beginning.
