Bulgaria strongly condemns the brutal attacks in Amsterdam on Thursday night, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs wrote in its profile on the social network X on Friday.

"We are deeply concerned about the rising wave of anti-Semitism in Europe. Hatred and fanaticism cannot be tolerated in democratic societies," the Foreign Ministry said.

Amsterdam police reported that five people were hospitalized with injuries, and 62 were arrested after clashes in downtown Amsterdam and near the Johan Cruyff Stadium during the Europa League match between Ajax and Maccabi Tel Aviv, which ended 5-0, according to Reuters.

The United Nations is concerned about "very troubling" reports from Amsterdam regarding violence against Israeli citizens, UN Human Rights spokesperson Jeremy Laurence said at a press conference in Geneva, the Dutch National News Agency ANP reported.
