site.btaPresident to Hand National Flag to Antarctic Explorers from 33rd Bulgarian Polar Expedition

President Rumen Radev will present the national flag to the Antarctic explorers from the 33rd Bulgarian polar expedition, the head of State's press secretariat reported here on Monday. The ceremony will take place in the presidential building at 2 p.m.

The flag will be received by the head of the expedition Prof. Christo Pimpirev. The Bulgarian expedition will sail on the Bulgarian naval research vessel Sv. Sv. Kiril i Metodii to Livingston Island in the Southern Ocean for the third consecutive year.

President of the Hellenic Polar Zones Society Symeon Konstantinidis told BTA in late September that Greece will send scientists to Antarctica for the first time. They will travel aboard the research vessel Sv. Sv. Kiril i Metodii as well.
