Viktoria Vassileva, an independent MP and former member of the Velichie parliamentary group, submitted papers for the registration of a new coalition of two parties for the October 27 snap parliamentary elections Tuesday. The coalition is Ima Smisal [It Matters], which comprises the Bulgarian Social Democratic Party and Badete Smeli [Be Brave].

The Velichie group was the smallest in this Parliament until it ceased to exist in the wake of a split-up in the party leadership.

Asked if she expects the party to clear the 4% threashold for entry in the legislature, she said they "will do their best".

She said that they have 4,020 signatures in support of the registration.

The parties and coalitions are required to have collected at least 2,500 signatures.

She said that the new coalition relies on "honest discussion, dialogue with the people and clear messages". She expects the next Parliament to be short-lived. She said they have learnt their lesson from what happened with Velichie.
