Seconded teachers from Bulgaria in the Taraclia region will for the first time get their own office equipped with modern equipment. The office is located in the Education Department in Taraclia and is intended for specialists in Bulgarian language and literature, as well as in the history and culture of the Bulgarian people. The Education Department of the Taraclia Regional Council implemented a project for this purpose, funded by the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs within the framework of the programme for the support of non-governmental organizations of ethnic minorities of Bulgarians in Moldova.
The project is called "Improvement of educational services for ethnic Bulgarians in the Taraclia region by increasing the administrative capacity of the Education Department of the Taraclia Regional Council," the head of the Education Department, Lilia Sarsaman, told BTA.
According to her, the project's total value is EUR 10,657 and it aims to improve the quality of the work of the Education Department and educational institutions in the Taraclia region, where ethnic Bulgarians from Moldova are educated.
"The main tasks of the project include equipping a methodological office for the seconded teachers, providing Education Department staff responsible for the quality of education with computers and printers, and disseminating Bulgaria's positive experience in supporting educational institutions in the region," Sarsaman said.
The head of the department noted that despite the many years of work of the Bulgarian teachers, there was no special office for them. "Since this year, on the initiative of the Moldovan and Bulgarian education ministries, a specialist in the history and culture of the Bulgarian people has been assigned to the region," she said.
The project will cover two teachers and 33 employees of the Education Department. Indirect beneficiaries will be 33 institutions, including kindergartens and schools, teachers of Bulgarian language, literature, history and culture of the Bulgarian people, students from general and supplementary educational institutions, and partners of the Education Department and services that need the support of specialists.
The office is scheduled to open in January in the presence of the Minister of Education of Moldova, Dan Perciun.
