President Rumen Radev visited Gurkovo (South Bulgaria) on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of its proclamation as a town on Tuesday. "I hope that, albeit the hard way, Bulgarian politicians have already realized that the kompromat war and the focus on the politics of denial rather than of creation are leading Bulgaria into a dead end," he told journalists.
He pointed out that the legitimacy of politicians is based on the trust of citizens and the fairness of the elections.
"Once again, I would like to stress that I expect the Central Election Commission and the Government, and especially the Interior Ministry, to ensure that our future is determined by the authentic voice of the Bulgarians and not by the bought and corporate vote," the head of State added.
