site.btaGood Mountain Hiking Conditions on Monday

The conditions for tourism in the mountains are good at the moment, the Mountain Rescue Service (MRS) of the Bulgarian Red Cross (BRC) informed BTA.

Temperatures are between 5C and 15C, with moderate wind in the highest part of the Balkan. In Southwestern Bulgaria, the Rhodopes, hikers should be mindful of the weather, as precipitation is expected.

The MRS also reported on incidents with tourists from the last 24 hours, including a woman in Vitoska with abdominal pain and a rescue operation to assist a Polish citizen near the Boyana Waterfall.

The wrather in the mountains on Monday will be mostly sunny, cloudy in some areas in the afternoon, with light to modeate north-northwesterly wind the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH) said.  Temperatures will go up to 21C at 1,200m and 14C at 2,000m.
