Parliament dismissed Vladimir Savov from the post of Deputy Chairman of the Financial Supervision Commission following his resignation. A total of 109 MPs voted in favour of his dismissal (GERB-UDF, Continue the Change – Democratic Bulgaria, the Movement for Rights and Freedoms, BSP for Bulgaria, and 20 non-members of a parliamentary group). Against were 36 MPs, mainly from Vazrazhdane, and 16 MPs abstained.

In July this year Savov's resignation was also on the agenda of Parliament. Back then, the National Assembly first accepted it and then rejected it, which is why it was voted on for the second time on Wednesday.

Savov said that he has been working for the FSC for over ten years. "In 2020, I was elected by the National Assembly for a second term and took over the Insurance Supervision Department until now. I am taking another job because it is a new challenge for me," Savov explained. His new position will be with the financial services regulatory committee of the Astana International Financial Centre in Kazakhstan. It is a special economic zone set up by Kazakhstan to attract investment in the country's economy. His position there will be related to capital market development.
