President Rumen Radev expects a fast investigation of a major explosion in a fireworks depot in Elin Pelin on Thursday evening. "I expect a fast investigation to clarify the cause of what happened," the head of State told reporters in Paris. He is there for the opening of the Paris Games.
The blast killed one and caused damage to property. Air pollution has been insignificant.
Radev said his heart goes out to the family of the victim, Petar Shishkov, a professor at the Sofia University of Mining and Geology.
"Safety precautions are always essential in handling hazardous materials," said the President.
