site.btaServicemen and Two Helicopters Join Efforts to Extinguish Fire in Plovdiv Region

Servicemen and two helicopters from Krumovo Air Base are participating in the efforts to extinguish a large fire in the Sredna Gora mountain range on the territory of Plovdiv Region, the Defence Ministry said on Friday. The helicopters will be dispatched to the villages of Pesnopoy and Mihaltsi. The helicopters, Mi-17 and Cougar took off at 1.21 pm from the air base and will aid employees of the local fire safety service.

A unit from 61st Stryama mechanized brigade is ready to join the efforts.

The servicemen are taking part at the request of the Interior Ministry and Plovdiv Regional Governor and with authorization of the Chief of Defence.
