In a position published by the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) press centre on Wednesday, MRF Chairman Delyan Peevski says that the early parliamentary elections on June 9 showed clearly the Bulgarian citizens' will. "Now it is time to take responsibility towards them. There must be a regular government to stabilise the country," the position reads.

In Peevski's words, the State must be governed by the parties legitimately elected by the Bulgarian people, and no one has the right to question their legitimacy received from the Bulgarian people. "We must guarantee the security and peace of mind of all Bulgarian citizens, the development of business and the prosperity of the country - we owe this to the people," he adds.

He goes on to say that the attempts by analysts, political analysts, sociologists through the media to create the conditions for the replacement of the voters' vote by opening a portal for a new "messiah" - President Rumen Radev - are an expression of either extreme irresponsibility or heavy dependence on the person "who, with his caretaker governments that have plundered the country, with the 'charlatans' that he put in power and then defined as such himself", wants to divert Bulgaria from its Euro-Atlantic path and hand it over to Russian President Vladimir Putin. "[The person] who strongly wants to get sole power, no matter what it would cost the people, the country," Peevski argues.

"Suggestions that the political model is exhausted and that a new project, a new Saviour is needed are nothing but complicity in the attempt of the biggest replacement since 1990: the replacement of democracy and its principles. Democracy has no alternative. Bulgaria's path as an established Euro-Atlantic state has no alternative. The security and tranquillity of Bulgarian citizens have no alternative. And we, as the most stable Euro-Atlantic party, will not allow this to happen," Peevksi's position reads. "The vote of the Bulgarian citizens obliges us to uphold Euro-Atlantic values and principles and we will not deviate from this obligation," he adds.

In his words, he has already prevented once an attempt by Radev to "install himself on the backs of the people as a political ruler with the 3rd of March project". The MRF will not allow this to happen now.  "Political power is set by the voters with their votes. Now it is the politicians' turn. They must carry out the will of the voters," Peevski underscores.

He calls on all responsible political leaders to immediately begin consultations to find a formula to form a stable government. "I call on the leader of the largest political force, Mr. Boyko Borissov, and the GERB-UDF to start this process as befits them as the first political force in the 50th National Assembly," Peevski specifies.

"For the MRF, power has never been an end in itself and this has always been confirmed by our actions. But I am adamant- we will be the foundation and the guarantor that Bulgaria will not deviate from its Euro-Atlantic path," the position reads further. "

"I call on the leaders of all Euro-Atlantic parties: be responsible leaders and do not all your personal or party emotions and interests to be placed above the State's interests. The fears and avoidance of responsibility are not a solution," Peevski says. He expects GERB leader Borissov to invite him and all Euro-Atlantic leaders to talks on Bulgaria's future.
