Vice President Iliana Iotova told journalists on Friday that Bulgaria needs stability and good governance, and expressed hope that every vote to be cast in Sunday's elections will contribute to that. She was approached by reporters at Sofia University, where she attended a 50th anniversary session of the Union of Translators in Bulgaria.
Iotova said: "There have been many reports about vote buying attempts, but I was expecting to hear the name of the party in whose favour the attempts were made. No such information has been released, none to reach us, anyway."
Asked whether the caretaker government has coped with organizing the elections, she said she will make such an assessment on Monday because she needs to see how polling day unfolds on Sunday.
She described as "exotic" caretaker Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev's intention to turn to the National Assembly to decide whether the Prime Minister or the President gets to lead the national delegation to the NATO Washington Summit if no regular government is formed early enough to make the decision.
