site.btaPM Glavchev Says He'll Ask Parliament to Designate Bulgaria's NATO Summit Representatives if No Regular Government Formed
"Our representative at the NATO summit in Washington is not yet clear. Let us hope that there will be a regular government to designate that person, but if there is none by then, I will turn to the National Assembly," caretaker Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev said in response to a question from journalists on Wednesday at the Kapitan Andreevo checkpoint on the Bulgarian-Turkish border.
"After all, we are a parliamentary republic and Parliament should make a decision so that it is as legitimate as possible," Glavchev explained, adding that the legislature should determine who should lead the delegation and what mandate to give that person for the NATO Summit talks.
