Outgoing Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov and his deputy Mariya Gabriel will confer with Eurogroup President Paschal Donohoe here on March 15, the Council of Minister’s press centre said on Thursday. Donohoe will be visiting Bulgaria at the invitation of Finance Minister Assen Vassilev.
After the meetings, Denkov and Gabriel will hold a press conference jointly with Donohoe. Vassilev will also join the news briefing.
The Eurogroup is an informal body, established in 1997, within which ministers of euro area member states discuss issues concerning their countries' common responsibilities in relation to the euro.
The main task of the Eurogroup is to ensure close coordination of economic policies between euro area member states. Another objective is to promote the conditions for stronger economic growth. It is responsible for the preparation of the euro area summit meetings and the related follow-up, the release says.
