site.btaBTA's Europe on Balkans Cohesion Skills Conference to Be Held in Razgrad


On Friday, the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) is organizing a local conference in Razgrad as part of its project Europe on Balkans: Cohesion Skills, supported by the European Commission. The event will be held at BTA's National Press Club.
BTA Director General Kiril Valchev will open the conference. The event will feature participants including Razgrad Mayor Dobrin Dobrev, Regional Administration Chief Secretary Mihail Todorov, Regional Information Centre expert Emil Chankov, senior expert Marina Benova from the Regional Education Directorate, Prof Stanka Damyanova, Director of the Razgrad Branch of Ruse University, and Regional History Museum Director Tanya Todorova.
The latest developments in the EU Cohesion Policy for the 2021-2027 programming period and the results achieved during the 2014-2020 period will be on the agenda. Special attention will be given to skills as a driver of regional development and the contributions of Bulgaria and the Balkan countries to Europe's growth.
The project kicked off with a conference in Veliki Preslav in November 2024. Until September 2025, BTA will host discussions at its press clubs in the following towns: Blagoevgrad, Burgas, Varna, Veliko Tarnovo, Vidin, Vratsa, Gabrovo, Dobrich, Kazanlak, Kardzhali, Kyustendil, Lovech, Montana, Pazardzhik, Pernik, Pleven, Razgrad, Ruse, Samokov, Svishtov, Sliven, Smolyan, Sofia, Stara Zagora, Troyan, Targovishte, Haskovo, Shumen and Yambol. Cross-border conferences are planned to be held in Belgrade, Bosilegrad, Bucharest, Edirne, Skopje and Thessaloniki.
The project builds on two earlier projects, "Europe in the Balkans: A Common Future" and "Europe in Bulgaria: A Common Future", implemented by BTA in 2023 and 2024, respectively.
