site.btaRotation of Bulgarian Contingent in NATO's Battlegroup in Bulgaria Takes Place at Novo Selo Training Ground

The Bulgarian contingent of NATO’s Multinational Battlegroup in Bulgaria was rotated in a solemn ceremony at the Novo Selo training area, the press centre of the Defence Ministry reported on Thursday. 

The previous deputy commander of the battle group and national commander of the contingent from the Land Forces, Leutenant Colonel Ivan Ivanov, handed over his responsibilities to Leutenant Colonel Ivan Bonev. 

The ceremony also included the rotation of a mechanized company from the 42nd mechanized battalion - Yambol with a mechanized company from the 31st battalion - Haskovo. The two companies are part of the 2nd Tundzha Mechanized Brigade.

The solemn ceremony was attended by 2nd Tundzha Mechanized Brigade Commander Brigadier General Stanimir Hristov and Colonel Michelangelo Genchi., Commander of the Multinational Battlegroup.

Colonel Michelangelo Genchi congratulated his former deputy commander, Lt. Colonel Ivan Ivanov, and thanked the Bulgarian servicemen for their merits for the successful completion of the tasks as part of the battle group.
