site.btaBulgaria and Slovenia Hold Political Consultations at European Affairs General Directorate Level
The Forieign Ministry hosted political consultations between Bulgaria and Slovenia on Friday, at the level of directors general on European affairs, the Ministry said. The Bulgarian delegation was led by the head of the European Affairs General Directorate, Yordan Parvanov, and the Slovenian delegation - by his counterpart Anzej Franges.
Bilateral relations between Bulgaria and Slovenia are based on long-standing friendship, constructive partnership within the framework of the EU and NATO and a number of common interests, the Foreign Ministry pointed out.
The consultations between the two countries were within the framework intensive bilateral political dialogue, exchange of positions on current European, regional and international topics and common interests for cooperation in sectoral policies.
In the course of the discussion, the two directors general reviewed and identified opportunities for deepening all aspects of bilateral cooperation, including trade and economic relations, defense, energy, innovation, science and education, tourism and sports. Opinions were also exchanged on the enlargement of the European Union, the situation in the countries of the Western Balkans and the future of the EU.
