site.btaBulgarian Law Enforcers Help Greek Counterparts Crack Migrant Trafficking Ring
The Directorate General for Combating Organized Crime of Bulgaria's Interior Ministry has helped its Greek counterparts to neutralize a criminal group trafficking foreigners through the territory of Greece, the Ministry said in a press release on Saturday.
The specialized operation was carried out within a joint investigation of law enforcement authorities in Bulgaria and Greece coordinated by the EU Agency for Law Enforcement Cooperation (Europol). Four members of the organized crime group were apprehended. It was established that 45 transport vehicles had been used for the illicit migrant trafficking. Number plates, ignition keys and car licences were seized. Mobile phone that the perpetrators used for their criminal activity were recovered as well.
