site.btaDeputy Justice Minister Emil Dechev Discusses Fight against Fraud and Corruption at Work Meetings in USA

Deputy Justice Minister Emil Dechev and the Minister's Chef de Cabinet Borislav Ganchev held a series of working meetings in Washington DC.

Representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Washington DC,  Central Europe Anti-Corruption Resident Legal Advisor Peter Halpern, and his advisor Alexander Ganchev, as well as adviser to the Prime Minister  Ekaterina Dimitrusheva and Ministry of Justice expert Florian Florov, also participated in the meetings.

In the Department of State, as well as in the Departments of Justice and Finance, they exchanged visions and good practices with their colleagues on the topics of criminal liability of legal entities, the fight against fraud, corruption and abuse of public procurement, money laundering.

The ambitious legislative program and the clear direction for the development of the legislation inevitably affects the perception for Bulgaria by international partners and investors. Implementation of the changes was again brought up as an important task for the government in the coming months.
