site.btaTourism Minister, Japanese Ambassador Discuss Opportunities to Promote Bulgaria in Japan

The excellent bilateral relations, the potential for development in the field of tourism and the opportunities for better presentation and promotion of Bulgaria in Japan were the main topics discussed by Tourism Minister Zaritsa Dinkova at a meeting with Hisashi Michigami, Ambassador of Japan to Bulgaria, the Ministry said on Tuesday. 

Dinkova stressed Bulgaria's readiness to intensify political dialogue and strengthen contacts between the two countries to promote tourism and cultural exchanges.

Ambassador Hisashi Michigami stressed on strengthening Bulgaria's position in the field of science and technology. He noted that there is a need for additional and targeted presentation of tourism opportunities in Bulgaria to make this country more recognizable and compete with the advertising of its neighbours.

The two officials also talked about organizing familiarization trips for tour operators and journalists in both countries; more active participation in exhibitions in Japan; organizing special events dedicated to tourism and culture in Tokyo, as well as establishing a tourism office for Bulgaria in Tokyo or Osaka.
