site.btaCentral Bank Sets Base Interest Rate at 3.54% as September 1

The Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) Friday set a base interest rate (simple per annum interest) of 3.54% as of September 1, 2024. In August, the base interest rate was 3.53%.

In July, the base interest rate was 3.63%, and in June it was at 3.78%, the same as in May.

In April, the base rate was 3.79%. It peaked at 3.80% in March, the highest since the zero interest rate of the last few years. In January and February 2024 it was 3.79%.
From February 2016 until the end of September 2022, the base interest rate was 0.00%. In October 2022 it went up to 0.49%.
